Bootcamp briefing special 2021
Initial situation
Finding the best mobility offer in the region requires many different apps. One app provides information about bus departure times, a second app can rent a scooter, and a third lets me hitch a ride with someone else. When traveling to another state, I might need 3 new apps for these services.
In the Domino research project, this problem is being solved in 3 regions with the help of a Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) by combining all available mobility providers in one interface with the core functionalities of multimodal travel information, booking system and shared mobility. In the Upper Austria pilot, multimodal travel information links public transport services (bus, train, streetcar) with route information for individual transport (car, bike and on foot), with available private providers (cab and scooter) and a specially developed ride-sharing exchange. For example, multimodal routes are generated by walking the first part of the route, using the carpooling service for the main part, and taking the streetcar for the remaining part.
The goal of the pilot is to optimize commuter traffic in the Linz area by increasing the occupancy rate in cars through the carpooling exchange and to promote low-CO2 means of transportation more effectively by better demonstrating alternative routes. The difficulty lies in generating barrier-free applications that are intuitive and easy to use, and thus easy to operate even by older or impaired users.
Task
We are looking for creative minds that develop new ideas, concepts or applications that cover novel use cases for MaaS or contain innovative operating concepts. The aim is to decouple the complex subject area of a MaaS and thus increase acceptance among the population.
perspectives
During the IMM Bootcamp you can exclusively test which information a MaaS returns with the help of prepared queries.
The Mobility Team of RISC Software GmbH and if required the team of Fluidtime (development partner in Domino) support you with their industrial and technical know-how in the creation of new solutions.
After the bootcamp, one of the most promising solutions can be selected to continue working together on a proof-of-concept.
Next steps
We will present our briefing on 21.6 at the Future Tech Bootcamp and look forward to starting a joint creative development process with you, which will be customized based on your capabilities and interests.
Contact
The main contact person for the project is Karl-Heinz Kastner from RISC Software GmbH.
