Initial situation

For years, the term "bin picking" has been used to describe the search for smart solutions that enable robots to take objects from disorganised bins containing bulk goods, screws or components and place or assemble them perfectly at a defined destination.

This objective may sound banal, but it is not. What people intuitively do correctly must be taught to machines at great expense. But once it's done, the leap in efficiency in production is amazing and relieving staff of monotonous tasks is an enormous pleasure for everyone.

Our challenge

Although a number of practicable approaches have been developed to date, there is still no universally implementable concept for realizing the wide range of complex applications that arise in everyday production operations.

At AKE technologies, we are regularly confronted with challenges of this kind. We have already gained some experience with camera technology, image recognition processes, etc., but we are certain that there must be even more ideal solutions for our specific applications.

In the hope of being able to take the automation of our processes a big step further, we invite you to brainstorm with us and work on completely new approaches that have never been seen before.

Support

During the #IMM2024 programme, you will be actively supported by our in-house team of experts. We would also be happy to invite you to our site to give you an insight into our day-to-day work and how our equipment and processes work. If our joint preliminary considerations extend beyond a concept to a haptic prototype or proof-of-concept, we will discuss the necessary details directly during the ongoing process.

Next steps

At the #IMM2024 kick-off on March 14th, we will present our challenge in more detail and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Afterwards, we would like to invite all interested parties to join us for an initial deep dive session, where we can discuss which approaches we could pursue together in the coming months, what expectations and interests exist and how we proceed afterwards.
